Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The UND men's hockey team is playing it's best hockey of the season, Dave Hakstol's bunch picked up its 2nd straight sweep over the weekend up in Duluth.

In those 4 wins, UND is outscoring it's opponents, 21-6.

The victories have also locked up home-ice for North Dakota in the first round of the inaugural NCHC playoffs.

UND opened the conference season with just 3 wins in 8 games, but since then they've gone 10-2 against the conference, picking up confidence along the way.

Dillion Simpson/ UND Sr. Defenseman: “It's huge for us! It's something at the start of the season that's a goal of ours to get home-ice for the playoffs. It's a huge deal being able to play in your own building and to give our fans more games at home is always great.”

And at the Olympics, former UND star Jonathan Toews scores the opening goal in a 3-0 Canada win over Sweden in the Gold medal game. It's the 2nd straight Gold for Canada.
