Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - With nearly two thousand hockey players and their families in the metro area this weekend, the town is crawling with Squirt 10 and 11-year olds, here for the International tournament.

But today, a unique face-off.

At the height of Olympic Fever this afternoon, US took on Canada.

But at rinks around the metro, today, another International faceoff.

Pre game locker room---was all business for the Nashville Junior Predators.

After all, the Squirts, like USA Hockey, was about to take on Canada.

“I can watch it on my Ipad when we are done.”

Down the hall, a relaxed Estevan, Sask team got ready for their own version of USA-versus Canada.

At rinks across the metro, fans gathered around Ipads to catch the other International game of the day.

USA-Canada from Sochi.

Moorhead Youth Hockey Arena upgraded their Dish package, to bring the game in to the hundreds of hockey fans from Canada and Us here for Squirt International.

The 1-0 game made the USA fans nervous.

“I am a little disappointed. We need more shots on net.”

It was a bitter pill to swallow. Dejected fans walked away, except for one of Team Canada's biggest fans, 4-year old Cooper from the Twin Cities. He was all smiles over the win.

As for the other big International Hockey game.

That Nashville team you met, won handily over Sask Canada....7-1.
