Turtle Mountain Reservation (WDAY TV) -- No one will be charged with murder in a shooting at the Turtle Mountain Reservation.

The shooting of 29 year-old Joel Sherman in November sparked a lockdown at schools and a regional manhunt. A federal investigation reveals the shooter acted in self defense.

Authorities say Sherman threatened another man, entered a home in Belcourt and fired more than once before someone shot back, killing him. 31-year-old Justin Keplin has pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment and assault.
