Fargo South-Shanley hockey team is back at state for the first time since 2010

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It wasn't easy but the drought is over for the South-Shanley hockey team, back at state for the first time since 2010.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It wasn't easy but the drought is over for the South-Shanley hockey team, back at state for the first time since 2010.

They nearly missed out, having to fend off Grafton in the state qualifier.

And on top of that saw their standout goalie Jake Salentine, left the game with a serious leg injury.

Salentine says he was cut by his knee and needed several stitches after the injury, he was going to practice today with the hopes of being in the net tomorrow.

Jake Salentine/South-Shanley Sr. Goalie: “I feel confident to be back in there, able to hold up defenseman been playing well lately full trust in them full confidence they'll help me out.”

Wade Storey/South-Shanley Head Coach: “Lot of energy, guys competing hard in practice and we've accomplished two of three goals and third is within reach”
