Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The end of the regular season is fast approaching for North Dakota basketball, which usually means that's when the Shanley girls get it into gear.

The Deacons sit second in the EDC behind West Fargo, the Packers clinched the top seed last night; but that hasn't stopped Tim Jacobson's team, who have won six straight after falling to the Packers nearly a month ago.

Sarah Jacobson, Shanley senior guard: “Our team has put a lot of time into it in the off season and during the season. Our hard work is showing in our play. We're just getting after it and playing well as a team. Moving the ball, hitting the open player and playing well on defense.”

Tim Jacobson, Shanley head coach: “They come to practice every day working very, very hard. It's been really a treat and a lot of fun to see that effort. That's the key for us right now, we're showing the passion that it takes to be competitive night in and night out.”

Deacons play fourth place Valley City in a two point game tonight.
