Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -One of the country's top agricultural meteorologists has his eye on weather models as we approach spring.
At the Northern Soybean Expo at Fargo’s Holiday Inn, producers heard from economic experts and those predicting our upcoming summer weather.
Drew Lerner is founder of World Weather Inc.
He's known around the world for his forecasting for the ag industry.
His assessments are often key for predictions that influence the market and ag business decisions.
After a rough winter nation-wide, Lerner says the unknown is now out there.
Drew Lerner, founder of World Weather Inc. “A lot of people ask if we had a cold winter, do we have a hot summer? In general, that is not correct but we are paralleling a few drought years like 1918 and 1936, and so I am not ready to say we are not going to have heat. We have not eliminated the dryness from last summer.”
World Weather is based in Kansas City.
