Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -River cleanup is underway in the Valley, preparing for a possible spring flood.
Crews from Industrial Builders are out on the Sheyenne today cutting down and picking up large trees and branches so they don't block the river when the water melts.
They say they've been working for several weeks, ever since the ice was safe enough for equipment and should be out for several more.
These men are making their way up to the Sheyenne River Bridge and have already done from 12th Avenue to the Red River on the Sheyenne.
Brandon Kranzler, Industrial Builders superintendent: “Sharpen chains at night, go through a lot of chains and dirty wood. Go on the ice and start cutting trees down, stay busy, stay warm.”
The project should take about eight weeks total.
