Grand Forks police have made an arrest in connection to a June 2 robbery at the Hugo's grocery store at 1315 S. Columbia Road.

52-year-old Michael Wells of Grand Forks was arrested without incident and charged with terrorizing, a Class C felony. He is being held at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.

Police say on June 2, employees at the store saw Wells take an item from the store and leave without paying.

Once outside the store, an employee told Wells to stop, but he kept walking. The employee again told Wells to stop and at that point Wells turned around, lifted up his shirt, displaying a handgun grip, according to police.

Police says the gun was never pointed at the employee, who then ran from the scene.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that according to information filed in district court, Wells allegedly took deli-prepared chicken valued at $8.

Judge Lawrence Jahnke set bail at $5,000 in court Thursday afternoon.
