Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The Fargo school district is looking to keep the cost of a new elementary school under $15 million.

Superintendent Jeff Schatz says the school in Ed Clapp Park should open in the fall of 2015.

The School Board will get an update on the project tonight.

Schatz says the board will look to get the bidding process started and come up with more accurate designs and cost estimates.

Jeff Schatz, Fargo Public Schools superintendent: "Sometime here in March we're hoping to have bids opened and actually finalize this whole process of what's going to happen and then move forward so when the spring comes and the frost comes out of the ground we can start moving the earth and making the progress of building the building."

Updates from the meeting will include where talks stand with the city, the park district, architects and the school's design team.
