Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -There's a new challenger in region 1 girls basketball; but they have a familiar face.

Maple Valley is in the midst of a great season. the Raiders have rattled off 11 straight wins and sit atop the District 2 standings at 5-0.

With only one senior on the varsity roster, Maple Valley is getting it done with defense allowing just 38 points per game, fourth fewest in the State.

Abbie Tinjum, Raiders senior guard: “I think we have been playing really well together, our defense has been good, we are struggling a little bit on offense but our defense is what wins our games.”

Rylee Nudell, Raiders sophomore guard: “We need to finish out games better, the past couple games we get all excited at the end and we rush things. So we just need to calm down towards the end of the games.”

Jeff Miller, Raiders head coach: “These girls have had quite a bit of varsity experience, some of them have been playing on varsity two three years. They have played together and they played over the summer, they get along off the court as well as on the court.”
