Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - After two weeks of build up and everyone talking about battling tough outdoor conditions. Super Bowl 48 kicked off with 50 degree temperatures in New Jersey.

On paper, the game was the best offense in the league against the best defense.

Peyton Manning and the high-scoring Broncos, against Seattle's self-titled legion of boom.

The first play from scrimmage was just a prelude to the rest of the game.

The snap sales over the head of Peyton Manning and into the endzone.

The Broncos fall on it, but it's a safety and Seattle goes up 2-0.

Denver starts to put together a drive in the 2nd, trailing 15-0, but Manning's arm is hit, and Malcolm Smith, who had the game-clinching interception in the AFC title game, takes this interception to the house, 69 yards for the score.

Seattle led 22-0 at the half.

The best offense in the league, shutout through 2 quarters? Really?

Opening kick-off of the 2nd half, Vikings fans begin to cringe, Percy Harvin, will this even things out on that trade?

Playing his first full game as a Seahawk, and he returns this kick for a touchdown, former Viking Heath Farwell right behind him blocking too.

Heck, even Tarvaris Jackson took a snap in this game.

Seattle blows out Denver, 43-8 to win its first Super Bowl championship.

Pete Carroll/3rd coach to Win NCAA Title & Super Bowl: “This is an amazing team. These guys started a long time ago, we're talking four years to get to this point. But, they've never taken a step sideways or backwards from going forward to make this team the way it is now.”

Russell Wilson/18-25, 206 yds, 2 TD: “The defense was relentless and offensively we were clicking on all cylinders. That's what we wanted to be, especially the last game of the season to finish that way and in that fashion. That's our mindset. We want to be champions every day and bring it every time.”
