Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - The UND women's hockey team wasn't at full strength this weekend, missing 3 Olympians, but I don't know if it would have mattered.

The 3rd ranked team in the country was humbled by number one Minnesota.

The Gophers outscored UND, 8-2 in route to the sweep.

Now, the task for North Dakota is shaking this one off, as they approach the final 6 games of the season.

Brian Idalski/UND head coach: “We knew it was going to be a tough weekend. They're a quality club when we're at full strength, so, we got a lot of kids a lot of good minutes. I thought overall that that's a good development for us and for our younger kids and what we're asking them to do this weekend. We didn't pack it in or sit back. We played like we normally play and right now that just wasn't good enough to play them.”

Gracen Hirschy/UND Freshmen Defenseman: “Of course, we have a lot of work. We have a few weeks to get prepared for playoffs and stuff like that, so, I think it just comes down to the next few weeks.”
