Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The big game is dividing a local household in some friendly family competition.

Husband and wife are seeing their rivalry spike as their teams played each other in today's big game.

Football fans can be pretty intense about their teams… and the stakes don't get much higher than the Super Bowl.

For one local couple it's an exciting match-up, Paul Wraalstad, a die-hard Broncos fan since his youth and his wife Brenda, an avid Seahawks fan since she was a kid.

Paul Wraalstad/Broncos Fan: "It's been kind of tense around the house, ribbing each other and egging each other on."

Brenda Wraalstad/Seahawks Fan: "A lot of back and forth, my team is gonna win."

They say their teams usually play against each other once every few years, but this is the first time they have gone head-to-head in the Super Bowl.

Brenda: "We thought throughout the season, 'what if?' What if they do meet in the Super Bowl?"

Paul: "We wanted to go to the game, but it was too expensive. So, we decided to have a party and do it up right."

And that's exactly what they did, with a party at Quaker Steak and Lube- televisions around every corner showing all the action.

There may be some teasing back and forth, but when all the excitement is over, they still have to live with each other.

But they say there are no hard feelings between them - their marriage always comes first.

Both: "Go Broncos! Get out of here!"

Brenda says even their kids are split - their son goes with the Broncos, and their daughter leans toward the Seahawks.
