Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The fun of the Minnesota high school hockey season goes to another level for the next 30 days as we near the end of the regular season, with a big one tonight in Moorhead.
We're about an hour away from the puck drop here at the Moorhead Sports Center.
You can watch the game live on WDAY 6-3, It has developed into a physical rivalry, Moorhead hosting Brainerd.
First year Spuds head coach Jon Ammerman did an interview with Jody Norstedt.
Norstedt: This is a team that you beat 4-2 at their place earlier this month. How much do you carry in from that game to this game tonight?
Ammerman: “It was a good game for us, we started out well and we played physical throughout withstood a few blows from them and came away with a win.”
Norstedt: You have 5 games left before postseason play, what improvements from your squad would you like to see before the playoffs?
Ammerman: “Well, like we talked about a little bit ago, just continuing to see secondary scoring from our team and continuing to make strides in the defensive zone.”
Your leading scorer Aaron Herdt is having another terrific season, what makes him so good?
Ammerman: “He’s a fast player that plays one step ahead of everyone else. He’s done a great job putting pucks on the net and outworking the opponent.”
Norstedt: What’s the first year been like for you Jon, I know it’s new to you being back here at a place you played, how special has it been?
Ammerman: “It’s been awesome. I’ve had a lot of community support. It’s been outstanding with the kids we’ve had and it’s been a lot of fun and hopefully it continues here for at least another month.
Thanks Coach, Good Luck tonight!
