Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The skyrocketing cost of propane is forcing people to look for other heating options.

One option is wood burning units.

With the cost of the wood and how long it would last, propane would have to be about $1.50 a gallon to compare.

Tom Haley, Haley Comfort Systems: "Lots of frustration. Just caught off guard. You know, it

was staying stable for a while down low. It just caught them off guard."

Another option is pellet stoves.

They can burn pellets made in a factory.

The stoves basically compress wood and some can burn corn.
