Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -We are in the midst of the winter sports season, but we're not too far away from the Twins reporting to Fort Myers to open up spring training.

Minnesota spent plenty this offseason to upgrade its starting pitching, picking up Ricky Nolasco and Phil Hughes, but Terry Ryan believes it's not just the pitching that has to be better in 2014.

Terry Ryan, Twins general manager: “There were quite a few guys that had off years last year I don’t think I need to single them out. We went out and got some pitching and I think our bullpen is in pretty good shape. We had a very difficult time scoring runs last year and I didn’t’ anticipate that at all but we didn’t’ score much so we got some things to work on above and beyond the starting pitching which we think might be in order cause we have a lot of numbers now.”
