Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The North Dakota high school hockey season has just three weeks left before state and points are getting hard to come by.

Davies has put itself in a great position. They're on top of the conference standings with 24 points, coming off a big week where they got wins over South-Shanley and Detroit Lakes...

Alek Groth, Davies senior forward: “Ever since day one we have just focused on getting that State Championship and that's our goal for this season and I think everyone is on the boat and everybody wants to go get it.”

Brian Davidson, Davies head coach: “I think our expectations were high, we want to get to that next step in the state tournament and play in that championship game. I think our past teams have set us up for that and put us in a good place and guys kind of expect that now. The Guys have pride in our team and I think that's where the exciting part is, every day they know they can go out and compete with everybody and they know they can win every night.”

Davies hosts Century and Bismarck this weekend at Scheels Arena.

And we've got live hockey returning to 6-3, Thursday night at 7:30 as Moorhead hosts Brainerd in a big Section 8AA matchup.

Coverage starts at 6:20 p.m. with a live preview on WDAY.
