Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The death of a driver whose car got stuck in the snow in Minnesota may be due to exposure to the cold.
The McLeod sheriff's department got a report Monday of a man who'd been missing since Sunday night.
Emergency responders and highway crews began searching for the man and found his body about two miles from his disabled vehicle south of Stewart.
Investigators believe the man was trying to walk home after his car got stuck in the snow.
Scoot Rehman, McLeod County sheriff: "If you go in a ditch, stay with your vehicle. Don't try to go out for help. If you have a cell phone, use your cell phone, call for help. Otherwise stay with your vehicle."
Some drivers were forced to spend the night in shelters Sunday night, when blizzard conditions closed many roads.
