Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - Back to our top story now, Traveling was no easy task today.
Combine 50 mile per hour wind gusts combined with recent snowfall and you get a nasty recipe for winter travel.
Randy Van/Truck Driver: "Coming down interstate 29, there were several times that you couldn't see a darn thing."
"You were lucky if you could see 10 to 15 feet in front of your car."
Many choosing to stop and wait out the storm
Van: "The decider to get me to come off the road. I came through a white-out. There was a jeep Cherokee stopped in the middle of the travel portion of the road because they got scared of the white-out."
Today's white-out conditions caused havoc for those trying to drive and fly to their destinations.
Stacie Van Dyke/Stuck at Denver International Airport: "There was a group of us trying to get to Fargo. Flight to Fargo was cancelled; every other flight today was cancelled."
Air and ground travels delayed.
"I'm here till the weather breaks."
"They were telling people in line, a mile long line of people behind me. The earliest they might get back is Thursday."
People waiting but content.
"I'm parked here. I'm safe. I'll live to drive another day."
