Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - No one is slowing down the UND men's hockey team these days, but this weekend's opponent is known for giving North Dakota fits.

Dave Hakstol's squad is in Denver Friday night, trying to extend its nine game unbeaten streak.

This series is important in the conference standings too, whoever wins this series will move into first place in the NCHC, something that Hakstol and his team are well aware of.

Dave Hakstol/UND Head Coach: “It always seems like there is a little bit extra on the line or it always seem like the games against Denver are important situations and that's the case this year. These are very very important points in our league race and it's our only series against Denver University this year.”

Mark MacMillan/UND Jr. Forward: “They got some mobile d and their goalie is one of the best in the country right now so it's going to be something that we're going to have to go in there and jump on them right away early in the game on Friday and kind of carry it into the weekend.”
