Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The Minnesota Wild have waited 14 games to get their star player back in the lineup, but tonight that wait is over as Zach Parise returns.

He's been out of the lineup with what many believe is a fractured foot. He hasn't played since Dec. 22.

His comeback couldn't come at a better time for the Wild, who host the Cup champion Blackhawks tonight, followed by a brutal road trip next week.

Zach Parise, Wild forward: “It's tough when you're watching the game from the press box for, for a long time and so, I'm looking forward to playing again. Probably just getting that pace down, when you miss for a long period of time you're practice is one thing. It's good to get in practices but games just another pace, it’s another speed. So hopefully that won't take too long to get back to where I was when I was feeling good.

Mike Yeo, Wild head coach: “We want him on the ice. Number two, you know, we got to get him back in there. We wouldn't be putting him in the lineup if he wasn't ready. Conditioning wise obviously everything is healed now, so we're confident there is no risk of re-injuring anything.”

Wild have gone 7-3 in last 10 without Parise.
