Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -A Duluth man hoping to challenge Sen. Al Franken this November made a stop in Moorhead tonight.

Chris Dahlberg is currently on a tour of Minnesota introducing himself to voters.

This is the first time the St. Louis County commissioner has run for national office.

He spent 25 years in the military and if elected, he hopes to tackle the national debt and Obamacare.

Chris Dahlberg, U.S. Senate candidate: "I've been talking about front porch leadership. It's the whole idea that we need to bring government back to the people. Right now, it's gotten to be all about Washington, D.C. and special interests. So, now it's time that the average person has a say in government, because it is the people's government."

Dahlberg will face five other Republican candidates at the primaries in May. He’s the only candidate from greater Minnesota.
