Nat: "This is what they call a Wall Tree"

The estate auction by Marx Estate Sales, will feature furniture from Sheldon mansion, a "National Registry of Historic Places" home that still stands in Red Wing, Minn. today.

Chuck Marx, Marx Estate Sales: "I think it came from there in the ’30s. The Roberts family bought some of this and brought it up here"

The Roberts family pulled out the furniture from storage in 1968 when they found a home in Moorhead big enough to fit all of it.

Pieces for sale include a walnut secretary cabinet, a china dresser and an 1800 Renaissance bed and dresser.

Marx: "It was really a labor of love. We've never had furniture of this caliber in any of our sales of this age"

Marx Estate has priced the furniture, so they will be sold on a first come basis. If you would like to be the first to snag a piece from the mansion, show up early. The sale starts at 10 a.m. Thursday at 417 9th St. in Moorhead.

Marx says he has received numerous calls about the sale, including one from the current owner Sheldon mansion owner, expressing interest in bringing the pieces back to the home.
