Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -Some may call it being at the right place at the right time. Others a miracle.

An Oslo, Minn. man was with his grandson outside his home when he had a heart attack.

After Rick Hendrickson fell to the ground, his grandson flagged down a mail carrier who happened to be driving by.

The mail carrier, Jake Craik, was filling in that day, and does not normally work that route.

Craik performed CPR on Hendrickson until an ambulance arrived.

Hendrickson says Craik saved his life.

Rick Hendrickson, man saved by mailman: “He did it properly too. I got broken ribs. Had they not broke they would not massage the heart properly and that in itself. I mean if I wouldn't have died, the other part is I could have been a vegetable for the rest of my life.”

After being taken to the hospital, doctors found a blocked artery and did surgery.

Hendrickson was released from the hospital today.
