Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - On a cold winter night baseball fans in the Red River Valley had a chance to think about summer and hope that their beloved Twins can find a way to stop a slide that's produced 291 losses over the past three years.

Dave St. Peter/Twins President:”There's pressure on everyone who works for the Twins, this is a franchise known for having a winning tradition and having three straight 95 loss seasons is not acceptable if Ron Gardenhire is feeling pressure so is everyone that wears that uniform, we have to take some steps forward in 2014, we're optimistic that will happen.”

Anthony Swarzak/Twins Pitcher: “This year is going to be a lot different, added a couple starters, Perkins, Joe moving to first base and a couple prospects bursting through it’s an exciting time in Minnesota baseball right now.”

Exciting and nervous may be the best two words to describe Twins fans at tonight's stop on the Winter Caravan.

Minnesota has been busy this offseason, adding two starters in Ricky Nolaso and Phil Hughes, while also moving former MVP catcher Joe Mauer to first time full-time.

Bert Blyleven/Baseball Hall of Famer: “I think it's a good thing Joe played in 113 games last year, Joe has to play in all the ball games, at first base you don't have concussion symptoms like you would at catcher, it's a great move, cause the Twins need his bat in the lineup.”

There may be two other bats heading to the Twins lineup soon, the top 2 prospects in the minor leagues, Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton.

Those players are going to dictate when they are ready to play in Minnesota, whether it's Buxton, Sano or Alex Meyer we think they'll make their debut in Minnesota soon maybe even 2014...

It's been frustrating over last 3 years, hopefully with addition of a couple new starters maybe be a little more succesful.

2014 is big for another reason for the Twins as they'll host this year's All-Star Game.
