Moorhead musician William Makovsky, better known as Wee Willie, died Sunday at his home in Moorhead

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Family and friends of a longtime Moorhead musician are mourning his passing tonight.

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Family and friends of a longtime Moorhead musician are mourning his passing tonight.

73 Year old William Makovsky, better known as Wee Willie, died Sunday at his home in Moorhead.

The founder of the "Wee Willie Band" will be remembered for his concertina playing and old time music.

He recorded 22-albums during his lifetime, and toured the world with his polkas and waltzes.

Wee Willie was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame and the World Concertina Congress Hall of Fame.

There is a visitation set for Wednesday at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo from 4:30-6:30 with the service set for 6:30.

His funeral is set for Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Minnesota.
