Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo-area children are remembering Martin Luther King Jr, through their art and stories.

A handful of families headed over to the Plains Art Museum Monday for Friendship Day: A Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

The afternoon event was full of fun activities promoting friendship and diversity in our own communities.

Children got the chance to listen to the story of Amazing Grace and make their own friendship bracelets.

Jen Nelson/Community Art Educator: “kind of signifying that everybody is different. We all have different colors, we have different textures, we speak differently, we look differently, but when we all come together we form a community. “

CHARISM- a local nonprofit, partnered with the Plains Art Museum for the event.
