Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Western Illinois entered Saturday's game against NDSU, as the for sure underdog.

But, don't tell that to anyone in the Bison locker room, the last time NDSU beat Western Illinois in the regular season was 3 years ago.

Saul Phillips and the Bison trying to snap that streak Saturday afternoon in front of a packed house at the BSA.

First half Chris Kading was huge off the bench, as the shot clock expires he hits the jumper, he had 6 at the break and the Bison up 6.

Western never went away, NDSU down 30-28 with under a minute to go, Taylor Braun rises over everyone on the jumper, he uses glass, and it’s a tie game at the break, Braun finished with 14.

The second half belonged to the Bison, TrayVonn Wright collects the pass and drives to the hoop, he absorbs the contact and gets the bucket, and he had 12, NDSU up 4 with 9 to go.

Later it's Marshall Bjorklund with the nice spin move, he leaves it for a waiting Kory Brown, the sophomore puts it in, NDSU never looks back, winning 65-62 in front of a packed house.

Taylor Braun/14 Pts, 8 Rebs, 6 Ast.: “Nice to see a full BSA, it was fun, I mean games against Western are always they feel so much different than any other team but it was still a fun game, good atmosphere it was how college basketball should be played.”
