SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Thieves with heavy machinery have made off with an ATM machine in Sioux Falls for the third straight year.

The Argus Leader reports that the alarm at the First Premier Bank ATM on the northeastern side of the city sounded at 4 a.m. Friday.

An officer passed a front-end loader while responding to the call but didn't think much of it because plows were out clearing snow. The loader was found still running about 10 blocks away from the scene. It was believed to be stolen.

The bank has not determined how much money was in the machine, which itself is valued at $40,000.

The other ATM thefts occurred on Jan. 3, 2011, and Jan. 1, 2012. No arrests have been made in any of the cases.
