Grand Forks, ND - Prosecutors charged two men Friday from the Twin Cities in the Dec. 29 theft of four bottles of liquor worth $2,800 from the Happy Harry’s Bottle Shop on the south end of Grand Forks, including a $2,600 bottle of cognac. Grand Forks police said tips from the public, stemming from clear surveillance video images published, helped in identifying the alleged thieves.

The Grand Forks state's attorney's office charged Todd Anthony Secord, 49, of Minneapolis, and David Edward Snyder, 56, of Bloomington, Minn., each with a felony count of theft.

They are accused of stealing the bottle of Louis XIII cognac and three other bottles of liquor from the bottle shop on 32nd Avenue South at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29. It was a busy time of day, owner Hal Gershman said.

Neither man was in custody Friday morning, according to police.

Both men have criminal records in Minnesota including theft charges, according to state court records.
