Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -Zach Parise has been out of the Minnesota Wild lineup since Dec. 22, but there are signs he's getting close to a return from a broken foot.

Parise has been out skating for the last few practices with the yellow jersey on, that means no contact. He'll miss his 12th straight game tonight, but he knows he's close.

Zach Parise, Wild forward: “Times I kind of found myself off balance just kind of favoring the other foot, but after a while when I got comfortable using it then it felt pretty good and off the quick starts and stuff like that it felt much better than it did.”

Mike Yeo, Wild head coach: “One thing to be out there and doing things without anyone on the ice, then you get out there and you are involved with skating with your teammates but the first big step will be getting him to real practice time and getting him some battle.”
