The con-artist crime click “American Hustle” and “Gravity” lead the pack with 10 Oscar nominations each. Followed by “12 Years a Slave” with 9 nods.

“The Wolf on Wall Street”

Golden Globe winner Leonardo DiCaprio is up for “best actor” along with:

Christian Bale

Bruce Dern

Chiwetel Ejiofor

Matthew McConaughey

McConaughey is celebrating again, after his Golden Globe win for “Dallas Buyers Club.”

Matthew McConaughey, Academy Award Best Actor Nominee : "It means a lot. These types of roles don't come along all the time. This picture, it took 20 years to get made."

Ellen DeGeneres is hosting the big night with an all-star line-up for “best actress” including:

Cate Blanchett

Sandra Bullock

Dame Judy Dench

Amy Adams

Meryl Streep

All have won Oscars Except for Adams. This year, some big stars didn’t make the cut.

Out of all the best picture nominees, “Gravity” has earned the most at the box office, pulling in more than $250 million in North America alone. You can watch the 86th Annual Academy Awards on March 2 on ABC.

A Minnesota man is up for best supporting actor in “Captain Phillips.” Barkhad Abdis, a Somali actor who played the pirate ringleader in the film. His friend, Mahat Ali, who now lives in Grand Forks, had a role as one of the pirates.
