Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -While most of us were sleeping, North Dakota DOT drivers were out in full force trying to clear roads.
DOT Operators say they were on top of things until about 2 a.m. when conditions worsened.
A full fleet of plows tried to keep snow and ice off the roads, but the task was much more difficult on highways out of town where winds were stronger.
Other day-shift drivers even came in early to help ease the load.
Dean Brown, N.D. DOT Operator “Everything was going real good, we had clear roads, roads were nice and wet but about 2 o'clock is about when it switched. The storm came in pretty hard and was blowing pretty good.”
Brown says crews will continue working overtime until roads get back to normal.
