Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Only hours away from a blizzard warning... Some would call this the calm before the storm.

But it's the exact opposite for construction crews.

Here outside it's only going to get worse...

Forecasts call for the strongest winds all season, and area builders are out to beat them.

Nathan Branson/Luxury Builders Carpenter: “Certainly trying to move at a little faster pace.”

While some of us spent the day huddled up inside- construction crews from Luxury Builders braved the already blustery weather.

Branson: “Trying to get everything buttoned up before wind and snow come tomorrow.”

They're boarding up the roof, fastening hurricane ties to hold down rafters, and making sure this soon to be home is free from holes...

All on a tight deadline.

Daryl Ritchison/WDAY Meteorologist: “Here in Fargo and pointing southward, probably the strongest winds will pick up right about the time people are getting up.”

Wind gusts could reach more than 50 miles per hour, most in the 30 to 40 range.

The looming storm bringing the worst winds this season.

Ritchison: “This one, wind speeds look to be literally look to be a good solid ten miles per hour stronger.”

And if there's one thing that keeps these guys going, it's knowing they'll end the day standing on solid ground

And come tomorrow,

Branson: “We'll throw plywood over the windows, work in the basement.”

They'll move this work inside.

Branson: “In North Dakota it gets windy all the time so you have to stay on top of it.”

Again the worst of it should hit early tomorrow morning.

Bringing blustery winds and blowing snow.
