Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -The Bison men's basketball team stumbled out of the gates to begin conference play last week, but found its footing before they came back to Fargo.
NDSU will open up the home portion of its conference schedule Thursday when they will take on Omaha. The Bison were not the only team that struggled on the road last week as SDSU and Denver both lost, but they know they have to take advantage of their home games.
Taylor Braun, NDSU men’s basketball player: “I don't think anybody lost any confidence after we lost to IPFW, we knew we were going to play a lot better on Saturday and have a strong effort and bounce back. We just need to maintain that and realize we put ourselves in a hole by losing our first conference game so the big thing is just stay focused and I think we will be fine.”
Trayvonn Wright, NDSU men’s basketball player: “Winning at home is how you win conference and conference championship and stuff like that, we were planning on being undefeated at home but that took a toll earlier in the season, so we are trying to at least do it in conference and go undefeated at home. That will help us out with standings and conference and everything too.”
The last tournament team for the bison lost just one home conference game during the 2009 season.
