Fargo, N.D. (WDAY TV) -Some new, innovative parks are on the drawing board for the city of Fargo. And one will actually tie into a new "West Fargo" elementary school.

Valley View park is scheduled to go in at 5200 36th Ave. S. in Fargo. The West Fargo school district is building a new elementary school near that area.

It will be a large park will several amenities and will be similar to projects at Davies and Bennett schools.

The other park, The Pines, is smaller and will go up near 52nd Ave. S. and 42nd Street, west of the Walmart.

Dave Leker, Director of Fargo Parks: “There will be a lot of residential housing down there just west of Walmart, it's the standard 6 acre park, your basketball courts, green space, shelters, trails, playgrounds for 2 to 5 year olds and 5 to 12 year olds, so pretty standard neighborhood park for us.”

A much larger park is planned for 36th Avenue near an up and coming West Fargo elementary school. It will feature a splash park.
