Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Heading into this hockey season, the Moorhead Spuds thought they had seen the last of Aaron Herdt, who finished last year with the Fargo Force.

Herdt opened this season with the Force scoring 2 goals with the Force in 14 games, before deciding to head back across the river to finish out his prep career with the Spuds.

In 14 games with Moorhead, he leads the team with 15 goals and 12 assists and has become a leader on a team that was looking for a strong voice.

Aaron Herdt/14 Games: 15 G, 12 A: β€œI'm putting quite a bit on myself. I'm very hard on myself. I compete every day and I want to go out and be better every day. So, hopefully I can get to the next level in the next couple of years, here. But, I'm happy to be back and leading this team.”

Jon Ammerman/7-7 Record this Year: β€œHe's a leader on and off the ice for our team. A lot of the guys look up to him. He really leads by example on the ice. He's a hard worker. He's a good kid and the kind of player that you want to stick around your program.”

Spuds won a big overtime game Saturday night over the Breck School, host Bemidji Tuesday night.
