Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - Perhaps lost in the weekend shuffle of playoff football and not freezing temperatures was the great weekend for the MSU Moorhead men's basketball team.

Chad Walthall's team knocked off 12th ranked MSU Mankato Saturday night the first win for the Dragons over a ranked team since December of 2012.

MSUM has just one senior on its roster but they're playing like veterans in the tough Northern Sun.

Chad Walthall/MSUM 4th Year Head Coach: “You just don't really get too high or too low go thru the season 22 conference games, go thru some moments that are tough, moments that are good, have to be even keel it's a 6 month grind and at end of day have to wait till season's complete.”

Jordan Riewer/MSUM Jr. Guard: “We all want to win, it’s a process have to do hard work to do good things, together we can accomplish those goals.”

Big next weeks for the Dragons, four straight on the road, starting Friday at Bemdiji State.
