St. Paul, MN (WDAY TV) – The Minnesota Wild equaled their point total for all of last season with a win last night, unlike last year though there's still a lot of hockey to go.

The Wild won for the fifth time in six games with a 4-0 shutout of Nashville and give them 55 points, which is good enough for the 8th spot in the West, four clear of Phoenix, and despite plenty of their stars out of the lineup, Minnesota is finding a way to win.

Ryan Suter/Wild Defenseman: “We have a lot of young players in the lineup; just keep it simple it always benefits us.”

Darcy Kuemper/Wild Goaltender: “When guys go out it's unfortunate but gives guys like me and those guys to step up and prove ourselves take advantage of opportunities right now and I think as a team keeping it simple, play a solid team game and it's working out for us.”

Big week for the Wild starts Tuesday, hosting Ottawa, then Edmonton Thursday and the Stars on Saturday.
