Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - A break in arctic temperatures gave people a chance to get out and actually enjoy the snow Saturday.

Moorhead Parks hosted a Cross Country Skiing Open house with free ski and snowshoe rentals at M-B Johnson Park, bringing many people out to the trails.

One of the skiers was Graham Sparkman.

Originally from Kentucky, he is relatively new to the cold climate.

Graham Sparkman/Cross Country Skier: "I figured that I had to find a way to do something during the winter to get me outside or else I was going to go crazy. So, I decided I'd pick up cross-country skiing because I knew it was popular in this part of the country, at least traditionally."

The open house had to be rescheduled from last week due to the extreme cold.
