Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - There are numerous new dining options in the city of Fargo. Have you driven South on 42nd Street by the mall lately and noticed something different?

Big D's closed in November, but not forever. It has been transforming for months into a new restaurant called Shotgun Sally's Rock 'N' Roll Saloon.

Same owner, just a new atmosphere, menu and look.

One of the biggest changes – space. Now there's a lot more of it.

Located at 1515 42nd Street South, it just opened Jan. 3.

The heart of downtown Fargo now has the wurst restaurant, and no not the worst your thinking of. It's called the Wurst Bier Hall, a new German eatery.

With the same owner as Dempsey's, it serves a wide variety of beer and you guessed it, sausages. All types--alligator, elk, and even rabbit.

And the German classics like borscht, spaetzle, and schnitzel.

The restaurant is filled with local art, a lot of it created by the owner, and the bar is made of 200-year-old wood from a grain elevator in Superior, Wisc.

Located at 630 1st Avenue North in the City Scapes Development, it also opened Jan. 3.

Both restaurants are open for lunch and are allow kids for part of the day.
