Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The Baseball Hall of Fame is considered the hardest of the halls of fame to gain entry too and today's election results bore that out.
The hall did open its doors to three players; Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas.
Maddux received 97 percent of the vote, he won 355 career games, 8th all-time, winning 4 straight Cy Young Awards.
Glavine was a 10 time All-Star, who won 2 Cy Youngs, along with 305 games.
Thomas was the last back to back MVP award winner in the American League prior to Miguel Cabrera, smacking 521 home runs and driving in over 17 hundred runs but today was about 2 Atlanta Braves getting the call.
Tom Glavine/Elected to Baseball Hall of Fame (MLB Network): “But to have an opportunity to go in with two guys so instrumental and had so much of an impact on my career it's the icing on the cake analogy. It's the kind of thing that not only do I get the pleasure to do that but I get the pleasure to do it with two guys that influenced my career as much as anybody. It's a great honor and it's going to be a lot of fun to have those two guys up there with me, no question about it.”
