Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's been a dream that's lasted for three years, back-to-back-to-back national championships is an honor NDSU and only one other FCS school can claim.

But, now what? Craig Bohl and 24 seniors are on their way out, and the Chris Klieman era is officially underway.

Chris Klieman/New NDSU Head Coach: “We're going to enjoy this one, but you're right. It's pretty special, coming here three years ago and not knowing what I was getting myself into. But, this is such an awesome place and we have great kids. I know that they're some challenges, but I wouldn't want to do it with anybody but that group in there.”

Has it sunk in yet now that this is your team? Or when will that sink in for you?

Klieman: “I'm going to enjoy it tonight, as far as being the defensive coordinator for all of those great players in there. It will probably sink in when my work load starts to increase with it. I'm excited for the challenge. Expectations are high! That's what's great and that's what is fun about football and about a place like North Dakota State.”

What do you see as challenge number one for you, besides filling out your staff?

Klieman: “Just making sure the kids don't stay complacent. We want them to stay hungry. We have a lot of great players coming back. We have young guys that hopefully learned from the seniors. It's never going to be easy. Even though the score sometime made it look like we won by a lot, there were some tough times there in the playoff run. What our seniors have instilled in some of the young guys here, that's going to last a lifetime for those guys.”
