Frisco, TX (WDAY TV0 - According to Bison Athletic Director Gene Taylor, about 90% of all tickets sold for the game went to Bison fans making it virtually a home game, and, like all home games, there was a tailgate.

Welcome to Tailgate town!

And we mean town!

Populated entirely by a thundering herd.

Jim Prochaniak/Bison Fan: " Just seems to be an electric atmosphere and a lot more people want to be a part of it. So, uh, obviously you can see the frenzy of the crowd and people walking around enjoying other people's company."

And with their flags flying high in support of gang green and gold.

These pros really pulled out all the stops.

My personal favorite the "Tiger Meat" made to poke fun at Towson University's mascot.

"It tastes like Victory."

A few NDSU fans couldn't help but take a step back, soak in the impressive sight and get sentimental.

Craig Werk/NDSU Bison Fan: "It's another family. You can walk around to any of these tents. They'll let you in, they'll offer you a beer, a hot dog, a brat."

Dianne Fox/NDSU Bison Fan: "One big nation, one big family. Everybody's here for the Bison and it's just so much fun. And I just feel blessed that I can be here."

Maybe a little too sentimental.

"It goes on and on and on and on..."

But you know what they say...The Strength of the Herd is the Bison, and the Strength of the Bison is the Herd.

"We're number 1! Woo!"

Most of the fans arrived for the tailgate before 8 a.m. a full five hours before the game.
