Casselton, ND (WDAY TV) - Just four days after the train derailment, crash and fire, Governor Jack Dalrymple headed to BNSF headquarters in Texas Friday to talk rail safety, Dalrymple met with BNSF's CEO.

Back at the crash site, the NTSB is still investigating, as BNSF Hazmat crews work to cleanup; concerns have been raised by the farmer who works the field closest to the crash, the same field that the NTSB is using for its operation center.

He worries that the cleanup won’t gather up all of the metal debris from the crash.

“There was some soil that was contaminated on the outside of the tracks in areas where the land was being cultivated for crops. We'll have to take a close look at that when mediation continues.”

Glatt says the Department of Health is also concerned about runoff as the ground thaws, but says the plan is for the farmer to be able to use the field in the spring.
