Frisco, TX (WDAY TV) - Wednesday, the NDSU Bison football team arrived at a destination every FCS college football team hoped to reach at the end of the season: Frisco, Texas.

And with this being the team's third-straight trip, it's starting to become a home away from home for the Thundering Herd.

It looked like Fargo, it sounded like Fargo, but it certainly did not feel like Fargo.

And don't let the wind fool you, folks. Right here in Frisco, Texas, it was a… Hold on a second. I've got to take off my sweater. It is hot here. It is a balmy 60 degrees.

Sorry, I had to rub it in… And so did the proud parents of freshman offensive tackle Zack Ziemer.

Kristie Ziemer- NDSU Bison Mom: "This is amazing. We're going to swim in this this afternoon outside."

But before the fun, about 50 of these shorts, t-shirt and flip flop flaunting fans took time out of their New Year's Day to welcome the Bison to Frisco.

And although the Midwest contingency seems to appreciate having a warm weather locale for the championship game…

Tony Sanniola- Chicago-Based Bison Fan: "I feel guilty for having this; these jackets. It's going to be a lot of fun."

…the Texas crowd seemed every bit as pleased to host the Bison.

This father and son duo recently moved to Frisco from Paolo Alto, California; but they figured before watching their Stanford Cardinal take the field, they'd show support for the FCS Champs.

Joe Aguirre- Frisco Football Fan: "If I hear there's some team, you know, making news here, there wherever, I'll Google them, YouTube, whatever-check things out. I told him, 'These guys are pretty good, let's check it out. And they've got a big following up North. I've seen that, so, yeah. We're definitely supporting it. "

The mayor of Frisco even showed up, making it an official homecoming... or, I mean, welcoming.

The Towson Tigers will arrive later Wednesday night and NCAA official activities kick off Thursday morning.
