Minnapolis, MN (WDAY TV) - While college football is the king the next few weeks, it's only a matter of time before college basketball grabs the spotlight.

The Gophers just wrapped up their non-conference season finishing 11-2.

For Minnesota to have success in the Big Ten this year, Richard Pitino will need junior guard Andre Hollins to be at the top of his game.

So far, Hollins has been up and down, but he's averaging 16 points per game; good enough for 10th in the Big Ten.

Next up for the Gophers: The Big Ten opener Thursday night at home against Michigan.
