Crookston, MN (WDAY TV) - The Polk County Sheriff's Office says meth use is becoming a bigger problem in the area.

The department reached the conclusion due to a spike in arrests throughout Polk County.

During a recent week-long stretch, law enforcement arrested at least one person a day on meth related charges.

James Tadman/Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy: "They were running for seven, eight days straight and made up to two arrests a day. With that information leads to more information and leads to further investigations, which is great."

The sheriff's office also reports that extra officers will be working drug cases in Polk County as needed.
