Fargo, N D (WDAY TV) - As North Dakota State gears up for to play Towson in their third straight national championship game we take a look back at the only time these two programs have played one another.

The Bison topped the Tigers 24-17.

NDSU was led by two interceptions on defense and true freshman running back Chad Stark.

Stark ran for 164 yards, starting a Bison run to a National Championship that season.

Chad Stark/Member of 1983 Bison Championship Team: “I was scared to death, it was great to have the senior leadership we had. We had guys like Piepkorn and Whetstone and Hushka, who led the way. They had been there before, so they know what to expect and they just brought us freshman along.”
