Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - This Christmas Eve, a Moorhead family is trying to piece their lives back together, after a massive inferno destroyed their home yesterday.

That home belonged to a family of four, including two adults and their two small children.

"I went for broke. I did what I had to do."

Hard times are what brought the Pritchett’s to Mobile Manor, a place Winter and Raymon called home.

Raymon Pritchett/Lost Home to Fire: "My kids had their own and that's what it was all about."

Building 15 became their address beginning just before the snow.

Raymon: "I took everything we had, that little bit of savings as I was saying and put into it."

But soon the hard times would return.

Raymon: "Next thing you know, everything was frozen."

Subzero temps set in.

The Pritchett’s were without water for days.

Raymon: "And of course the issue came up, we thought it was resolved. And it wasn't"

So, they decided to take it into their own hands.

I’m standing here in the kitchen but it was beneath these floorboards where they place a heater to thaw out the pipes. The insulation quickly caught fire and it was just minutes before this trailer burst into flames.

Raymon: "Didn’t grab jackets, anything."

Winter Pritchett/Lost in Fire: "fire coming from underneath the trailer and then by the time the fire trucks had gotten here it was already too late."

Moments passed by - their memories were up in smoke.

Winter: "It was just all flames, I was like oh my gosh."

Today, their home is gone.

Raymon: "It was a horrific experience. And I don’t' wish it upon my worst enemy."

But their family is safe.

Leaving an even harder question.

What now?

Raymon: "Two things, we pray and we wait."
